Sejam bem-vindos ao Maracatu Almirante do Forte.
A vocês que vieram brincar o carnaval com a gente, obrigado por tão
grande homenagem. O povo desse lugar é humilde, alegre e hospitaleiro.
O Maracatu Almirante do Forte nasceu em mil novecentos e trinta e um.
O símbolo é um navio. O azul e o branco de Iemanjá representam a luz
divina e a força do mar. Tem na fé persistente do Mestre Teté a fonte
da resistência de uma cultura e sua história.
Crianças, jovens e adultos participam do batuque. É uma cultura forte
e de valor para todos nós. É a fé de um povo manifestada através da
musica e da dança. É ao mesmo tempo arte e cultura.
A Nação do Almirante do Forte tem a honra de outra vez participar do
carnaval do Recife e de Pernambuco. Neste ano de 2010 estamos
celebrando o centenário da mais antiga dama do passo – Josefa Maria da
Silva – a dona Zéfinha, ou Vó Finha, como é conhecida na comunidade.
Somos gratos a “Vó Finha” pelo bem cultural que ela construiu e ainda constrói.
Dona Ana, também centenária e há muito tempo agregada a família não
perde a oportunidade de ensaiar o passo toda vez que tem batuque.
Meninos tão pequenos, do tamanho de uma alfaia ensaiam o toque com
entusiasmo. O velho e o novo integrados, mantendo a tradição. São
exemplos de que a cultura é um bem universal, para todas as idades,
imprescindível, que sem ela perderemos nossa identidade, nosso bem
maior.
Que a paz de Orixalá esteja sempre conosco.

Be welcome to Maracatu Almirante of the Fort.
To you that came to play the carnival with us, thank you for such
great homage. The people of that place are humble, cheerful and
hospitable.
Maracatu Almirante do Fort was born in thousand nine hundred and
thirty and one. The symbol is a ship. The blue and the white of
Iemanjá represent the divine light and the force of the sea. It has in
Master Teté's persistent faith the source of the resistance of a
culture and your history.
Children, teenagers and adults participate of the it drums. It is a
strong culture and of value for all of us. It is the faith of a people
manifested through the music and of the dance. It is at the same time
art and culture.
The Nation of the Admiral of the Fort has the honor again to
participate in the carnival of Recife and of Pernambuco. On this year
of 2010 we are celebrating the centennial of the oldest lady of the
step - Josefa Maria da Silva - the lady Zéfinha, or Vó Finha, as it is
known in the community.
We are thankful the Vó Finha " for the very cultural that she built
and it still builds.
